What is self-tanning mousse?

Self-tanning mousse is a product that can give you the appearance of a natural tan without exposing you to the sun or UV rays. It contains dihydroxyacetone (DHA), which reacts with the surface of your skin to produce a brown color.

I've never used a tanning product before. Where do I start?

We understand that using tanning products for the first time can be daunting. Bronzing Bods proprietary formula has been in production for 15+ years, and we have been nurturing new and experienced tanners with confidence. Before you use any of our tanning products, we recommend that you undertake a simple skin/patch test to check for sensitivity. You should carry out the test at least 24 hours before full body tanning.

How do I do a skin/patch test?

Using a cotton bud, apply a small amount of tanning product to the skin behind your ear or to the crease inside your elbow. Let it dry for 24 hours. If you have a negative reaction, for example inflammation, itching or swelling, you are experiencing sensitivity, and you should cease use. If you don’t experience a reaction. go ahead with your full tanning application.

How long does self-tanning mousse last?

Bronzing Bods self-tanning mousse is formulated with premium, naturally-derived ingredients and an advanced formula that sets it above the industry average. While a typical self-tan may last around 3 days, our product generally lasts for 5-7 days with proper maintenance. Regular moisturizing and avoiding harsh exfoliation can help to prolong the life of your self-tan.

Will self-tanning mousse make me orange?

Bronzing Bods self-tanning mousse is specially formulated with a colour-coding technology that is designed to create a natural-looking tan. If the product is applied correctly and in the right shade for your skin tone, it should not make you look off tones. It’s important to choose a shade that is appropriate for your skin tone, and our range of shades is formulated to complement different skin tones, including olive skin tones.

Tip: To avoid any potential off tones, be sure to apply the product evenly and blend well, paying extra attention to areas like knees, elbows, and ankles.

Can I still go in the sun after using self-tanning mousse?

It’s generally recommended to avoid sun exposure or to use a sunscreen with a high SPF to protect your skin. Bronzing Bods does not provide protection against the sun’s harmful UV rays.

Can I use Bronzing Bods tanning products on my face?

Yes, can be safely used on your face and on other parts of your body.

Can I shower after applying self-tanning mousse?

Yes, you can shower after applying self-tanning mousse, but it’s best to wait at least 8 hours to allow the product to fully develop. Bronzing Bods formula also has quick dry technology, so you won’t have to limit your day to day activities while waiting for your tan to develop.

Tip: Be sure to avoid using any harsh scrubs or exfoliators on your skin straight after tanning, as this can cause your tan to fade more quickly.

How do I choose the right shade of self-tanning mousse?

Our advanced formula offers a range of olive undertones from medium, dark to ultra dark (including 2HR formulations) that will work with a variety of skin tones. If you have fair skin, we recommend starting with our lighter shade and gradually building up to a darker shade. If you have darker skin, our darker shades will complement your skin tone beautifully. It’s always best to do a patch test before applying the product all over to ensure the shade is right for you.

Can I apply self-tanning mousse over a previous self-tan?

Yes, you can apply Bronzing Bods self-tanning mousse over a previous self-tan but be sure to exfoliate your skin first to remove any remaining color build-up.

Can I swim after applying the tan?

We recommend that you let your tan develop for between 8 and 12 hours before you shower or swim. After that you’re ok to swim, but your tan may fade faster with constant activity with water sports.

Is Bronzing Bods tested on animals?

No. All of our products are cruelty free.
